Better Life & Original Days... No wait, I think I mixed that up!
Anthropomorphic cartoonist Jay Naylor recently wrapped production on his long running web comic “Better Days”, which has been running since 2003. Not a bad run for a web comic. Most crash and burn after about six months when the authors run out of ideas and start relying on individual gimmicks, and care less about, oh I don’t know, plot development. I have to hand it to Naylor for keeping the story going, and keeping it interesting. Sometimes I wondered where certain story arcs were going, but I can say most everything was resolved in the last page for BD.
In place of “Better Days”, we have the new “Original Life” comic which recently launched on his site. Although Naylor said in his LiveJournal that it won’t be as dramatic as it’s predecessor, it will focus more on the comedic aspects that were popular throughout Better Days’s run. Hopefully, he’ll keep the satire of “today’s society” (I really hate that term...) because that’s what I always found the most entertaining.
I’m not sure if “Original Life” is supposed to be a spinoff/sequel to BD, but two of the characters shown in the first comic are identical to that of “Better Days”, and if they are in fact the same this could get interesting. I just really hope Naylor doesn’t kill it by rehashing old “Better Days” plots with these new characters. I have a feeling he’s smart enough not to do that, but you never know. You can find both “Better Days” and “Original Life” at www.jaynaylor.com.

Over to you now, Alias...
News from The Underground. Part Three to the series is currently in progress. I’m kind of doing this differently from normal. First of all, I have a complete story arc in my mind for the first time (at least for now). With the first two, I was feeling my way in the dark (no pun) and the plots just evolved. When I started writing Pitch Black, I had no idea where I was going with it. Only now I’ve got two arcs in my head, and I’m kind of working on them both at the same time. Now this can be both bad and good. It can be bad because it might take me longer than normal to finish one, or both. On the upside, this both calms my self-diagnosed case of ADD, and means that both will be released in relatively quick succession. We’ll see how this works, this could be an epic fail. Then again, it could be something awesome!
As always, keep it real my party peoples!

Probably the only time Lucy Black and Alias will be referenced in the same sentence
